In some cases, to be protected as a whistleblower, it is not necessary that you report the employer’s illegal and/or fraudulent activities to authorities outside of the company. You must be able to present evidence that you objected to the actions of the employer and that you gave the employer notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct its actions.
